Young Leaders Training Camp

We've launched #DreamBigAtHome!

Our new lockdown website has hundreds of activities and games to do at home, weekly challenges to try and a regular programme of live workshops and events online, as well as information on how our groups can operate during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Attached below is the full report from Woodcraft Folk's first Blue Skies Camp - a training residential for young people who want to become group helpers, and for children and families who are new to Woodcraft who want to see how it works.

The report is full of ideas such as:

  • What skills are needed to run activities for children
  • What games to use to put Woodcraft Folk's aims and principles into practice
  • How to run a session for young people on issues like alcohol and drugs
  • What safeguarding means

If you want to run your own training event to help young people take on the role of facilitator or group helper, you could use this report as a basis.

If you've got questions about the report or about running your own similar course, contact Debs: Deborah.mccahon@woodcraft.org.uk07845372267.
