Workshop Plans: Examples

We've launched #DreamBigAtHome!

Our new lockdown website has hundreds of activities and games to do at home, weekly challenges to try and a regular programme of live workshops and events online, as well as information on how our groups can operate during the COVID-19 outbreak.


Below are three workshop plans which were used at the training event Training for Leaders Old & New. Listed below are the aims of each workshop, and for download below that are the full plans for each of the three workshops.

1. Reaching Out to New Communities Workshop 


  • Share case studies and good practice on reaching out to new communities
  • Facilitate a discussion about how groups can reach out to new communities
  • Get leaders to reflect on their own groups within Woodcraft
  • Feed into the IFM-SEI consultation on inclusion
  • Come up with a strategy of getting the wider movement to reach out to new communities

2. The Courier & Communicating with the membership Workshop @ TFLON 2


  • Discuss & highlight methods of communicating within the Folk
  • Highlight any ways the Folk could improve communication
  • Review The Courier and its use within Woodcraft Folk
  • Help leaders to understand how they can feed into the communication streams within the Folk

3. TFLON2 Bushcraft Workshop 


  • Get participants outside to break up their type of learning
  • Give participants ideas of bushcraft sessions that they could run – for different ages, give examples, tips etc
  • Provide overview of safety
  • Give brief introduction to tools – what you can do with them, how much they cost, where you can buy them
  • Allow space for questions
