Woodcraft Folk Young Mentors Course

Our new lockdown website has hundreds of activities and games to do at home, weekly challenges to try and a regular programme of live workshops and events online, as well as information on how our groups can operate during the COVID-19 outbreak.
This training programme for young mentors within the Woodcraft Folk was developed by the TREE Programme as part of a wider scheme to recruit, train, deploy, and support young people in a range of mentoring positions throughout the organisation.
The programme provides an introduction to the concept of mentoring, supports participants in identifying the skills and attitudes which they can bring to this very worthwhile and rewarding volunteering activity.
The programme is designed to be run over a weekend with a short introductory session on the Friday evening, two main sessions on Saturday, and one on Sunday morning. The sessions could, however be run during a camp or residential, or at a series of evening or weekend meetings.
