Including deaf children & young people

We've launched #DreamBigAtHome!

Our new lockdown website has hundreds of activities and games to do at home, weekly challenges to try and a regular programme of live workshops and events online, as well as information on how our groups can operate during the COVID-19 outbreak.

This advice is a compilation of ideas from Woodcraft Folk volunteers at Venturer Camp 2013, supported by a trainer from the National Deaf Children’s Society. The tips are based on real experiences of supporting young people who are deaf or have a hearing impairment.

It includes tips for group nights, overnight trips and helping children and young people look after hearing aids.

Also below is the Scouts' resource for including young deaf people in group activities, which we're grateful to them for sharing with Woodcraft Folk.
