Bitesize Staying Safe training plan
We've launched #DreamBigAtHome!
Our new lockdown website has hundreds of activities and games to do at home, weekly challenges to try and a regular programme of live workshops and events online, as well as information on how our groups can operate during the COVID-19 outbreak.
This training session is an introduction to safeguarding for group leaders and helpers.
To run this session you'll need:
- BitesizeStayingSafeSessionPlan (attached below)
- Safeguarding practices jigsaw (attached below)
- Safeguarding Scenarios (attached below)
- SS1 - Safeguarding Policy
- SS2 - What to do if your concerned about a child or young person
- SS3 - Safeguarding flowchart
- SS4 - safeguarding Incident disclosure form
- SS5 - Safeguarding pocket guide for members to take away
By the end of the session, new volunteers will:
Get to know each other, the group and Woodcraft Folk
Be able to use safeguarding procedures to respond to concerns raised about a child or adult
Know where to find further resources and training opportunities
This plan is one of a series of four 'bitesize' session plans, developed by the New Groups team. See the related resources section for sessions on: Putting the aims and principles into practice, Promoting positive behaviour and Working together.
