Edinburgh Woodcraft Folk Host Successful Sharing Meal

 Woodcraft Folk love sharing meals and we love the environment. We were very lucky to receive a grant from the Scottish Communities Climate Action Network and participate in the European Day of Sustainable Communities. We’d organise a meal! Fun and light on the planet – through the supply chain, in terms of food packaging and excess food thrown away. Would it be surprisingly easy or much harder than we thought?

St Neots receive funding from Central England Coop

Central England Cooperative Community Dividend fund "have proudly donated over £1.2 million to help fund projects in our trading area".In July groups in St Neots, Peterborough and Thetford put in bids for funding for equipment or materials that will help their groups and lukily... they were successful! St Neots have received funds for a mess tent to aid their future camping trips and public events. The mess tent will be a great piece of equipment as a kitchen tent to cook up lots of yummy camp meals!

As part of our growth project in East Anglia, our team of Development Officers have been delivering outreach sessions at a range of schools in the region. These sessions provide children who are not involved in our groups on a regular basis with an opportunity to benefit from activities structured around our aims and principles. In several locations we’ve been delivering these session in SEN schools - schools for children and young people with special educational needs.

Even with the great British weather, when summer comes around it seems like the perfect time to get outdoors and try out those activities which are much less appealing during the winter months. Many of our groups head out on camps and trips to new destinations across the country (or continent) or to favourite sites closer to home.
