Future of Common Ground

There is much uncertainty for all events planned for the Summer of 2020.

The Common Ground team are currently exploring alternatives as it is looking unlikely that the camp will go ahead as originally planned. With every alternative there are implications, we are currently looking at:

- 2021 dates at the original venue

- 2021 dates at an alternative venue

- 2022 dates at the original venue

As you will all be aware by now, due to recent government guidelines we have had to pause groups meeting physically to help slow the spread of Covid-19. At Woodcraft Folk we have been working hard to assure that this doesn’t mean that groups have to have a pause in taking part in Woodcraft folk activities.

We are adapting our work to reach as many children and young people as possible during the COVID-19 outbreak – but we need your help!

Woodcraft Folk is the co-operative children and young people's movement. The demand for our work is increasing as a result of COVID-19 as children and families are faced with isolation from friends, school and community.

Folk Office: staff working remotely in response to COVID-19

Following yesterday's Government announcement regarding COVID-19 we have asked all of our staff at Folk Office to work from home when possible until further notice. Folk Office is not closed and we will continue to provide a service to our members, however there may be some delays to the following:

All Change: Climate Science fun


The National Association for Environmental Education funded, All Change project hosted the first in a series of practical training sessions at Coop Group Headquarters involving Woodcraft Folk members from Manchester, Leeds, Bradford, Leicester and Wales. For some members it was the first time they had taken part in science experiments since leaving school at 16!


COVID-19: All face-to-face activities suspended

In response to the Government's latest announcement, we are postponing all face-to-face Woodcraft Folk activities scheduled between now and Monday 1 June 2020. This includes all May camps and any residential experiences planned for what remains of the Spring and early Summer terms.
