Folk Symbol session
This session was run with an Elfin group as part of a term's work on 'Community' to explore the theme of 'Our Woodcraft Commiunity'. We discussed the meaning behind the Woodcraft logo, and then used a selection of postcards to explore our understanding of Woodcraft Folk's values.
Pea Fair
Pea Fair (from Highgate & Holloway district)
At the end of each term we hold a district event. In the summer it’s in a park and we invite parents and run games etc. At the end of the term before Christmas we hold a pea fair for the whole district including parents.
The week before the last session we get the young people to come up with ideas for stalls they could run at the pea fair.
These are not limited to
101 Woodchip Ideas
A guide to 101 Woodchip activities that you can do with your group.
Cartoon Photo Story - Woodcraft Folk History
- Make a similar story with drawings and writings of what they believe are the most important events in Woodcraft’s history
- Make a similar story with the history of their group (how and when the group started, important events and highlights etc)
- Make a drama play by using the story as a script
Blank Woodcraft Folk logos for colouring in
There are three PDF files attached.
The first is an A4 sheet with an outline version of the Woodcraft Folk logo for you to print out (and maybe blow up on a photocopier). This is particularly useful for Woodchips and younger Elfins who are more confident colouring in than creating their own version of the logo on a blank piece of paper.
The second is similar but has slightly simpler simpler new style outline.
The third is a sheet of 15 versions of the Woodcraft and DF logos which can be printed onto labels for colouring in.

You will need: Paper, paints, paint pots and paintbrushes.

Paint a self-portrait. Mix the correct paint colours to match your skin tone and hair colour as closely as you can. Everyone will mix their own special colour because we all have slightly different coloured skin and hair.
