Put your Spring clear out to good use and help us raise funds!

Thursday, 28 May 2020

Have you been using this time in lockdown as an opportunity for a Spring clear out?

If the answer's yes, please think about using those unwanted items to help us raise much needed funds for Woodcraft Folk.

EBay has launched a Big Charity Sell where you can sell your unwanted items and opt for up to 100% of the proceeds to be donated directly to a charity of your choice.

According to eBay UK an estimated £51 million worth of unwanted items have been thrown away during lockdown.

Membership Badge Competition 2021

Wednesday, 20 May 2020

Earlier this year we launched the competition to find next year’s membership badge design. Last year was a chance for groups to think about International friendship and this year in light of the current crisis we wanted our children & young people to think about how they've helped members of their local communities.

This years competition:

Waltham Abbey Elfins/Woodchips March 2020

Below is a great example of a session that can be run online. It was lead by volunteers from Waltham Abbey for Elfins and Woodchips. The story at the end has been taken out for copyright purposes but leaves space for any story to be told to the group :).

Woodcraft Folk Online Programme

Due to government guidance we have had to pause our groups meeting physically for now. We have been working hard on developing online programme nationally and volunteers have been working hard to deliver local online programme so that groups do not miss out on speaking with their friends and engaging in Woodcraft Folk activities. One of the things we are passionate about at Woodcraft Folk is empowering young people and listening to their ideas. We would love to hear from our young members about what they want to see on our online programme.
