Co-operatives United

We've launched #DreamBigAtHome!

Our new lockdown website has hundreds of activities and games to do at home, weekly challenges to try and a regular programme of live workshops and events online, as well as information on how our groups can operate during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Event date:
29 October 2012 - 9:00am - 2 November 2012 - 7:00pm
Event location:
Manchester Central, Manchester

2012 is the International Year of Co-operatives, and the biggest event of the year is Co-operatives United, a huge festival of co-operatives from all over the world. It should be a memorable and inspiring event, and a chance to meet co-operators from countries and organisations we've never worked with before.

The event includes a trade fair, an interactive exhibition of co-operative living, a cinema and an Ideas Café. For full information, visit the Co-operatives United website

Woodcraft Folk plans to take as many activities, workshops and information as we can.

We'd love to hear from any Woodcraft Folk groups and members who would like to help represent Woodcraft there.

The days on which the general public are invited, and on which Woodcraft Folk will be delivering activities, are the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, October 31st - November 2nd, which is the half term of the autumn term.

Contact Chloë if you're interested in helping us. Particular interests and skills you could bring along:

  • Young people who'd like to be roving reporters
  • Local groups who can help run typical co-operative activities
  • Facilitators who can help run workshops
  • Young people who've been involved in a Woodcraft project or campaign they'd be happy to share in a workshop
  • Chatty people who'd like to introduce Woodcraft Folk to anyone they meet!
